A client told me my blowouts were too tight and it stuck with me
I mean, I was always taught to get the hair super smooth and tight at the roots. But a regular client said it gave her a headache and made her hair look flat after a day. She asked if I could leave a bit more movement at the crown. I tried her way on my next few clients, just using less tension with the round brush up top. Honestly, the volume lasts way longer now, like an extra two days easy. Has anyone else had a client point out something simple that actually improved your technique?

Seems like a pretty minor thing to get hung up on.

Calling it minor is how small issues become big ones. People let little things slide because they seem unimportant on their own. But those small things add up over time and create bigger problems. It's not about being hung up on one tiny detail, it's about stopping a pattern before it gets worse. If you don't push back on the small stuff, you end up having to fight a much harder battle later.

Totally get this. I had a client tell me my layers were too uniform and it made her hair look like a triangle. Felt like a slap at first, but she was right. Started cutting with more texture and the shape just sits better now. It's exactly what @drew_reed62 is saying about small things adding up. That one comment changed my whole approach for the better. Makes you wonder what other little habits we don't even notice, right?
