A driveway pour in July taught me to always check the truck's water tank

We were finishing a big stamped concrete driveway in Cincinnati last summer, and the mix from the third truck came out way too dry. The driver swore his water tank was full, but when we checked, the gauge was broken. We lost almost an hour fixing it with a garden hose from the house, and the heat was setting the first section fast. Has anyone else had a truck's equipment fail like that on a hot day?

Wasn't the real lesson to check the water level yourself before the pour starts?

Yeah, a buddy of mine had a pump hose burst last August... total mess. @stellanelson is right though, you gotta check it yourself.
