Just realized my bus driver has been watching out for me for months
I was running late this morning and missed my usual 7:15 bus. The driver on the next one, Frank, saw me and said, 'Figured you'd be on the 8:05 today. Your regular guy, Mike, told me to keep an eye out.' He explained Mike noticed my pattern and told the other drivers. It hit different because I never said a word to any of them. Has anyone else had a commute worker quietly look out for them like that?

My old bus driver in Chicago would sometimes wait an extra 30 seconds if he saw me coming. Honestly, it started to feel a bit creepy, like my schedule was being tracked. I switched to a different route just to get some space.

That part about it "hitting different" because you never said a word is SO real. My old barista used to start making my drink when she saw my car pull in. It's those tiny acts of noticing that make a place feel like a community. It really does change your whole day.
