Had a bus driver tell me the shortcut saved 10 minutes. It added 25.
This old driver on the 42 route in St. Paul said to take the side streets after the highway merge. Said it'd shave off time every time. Tried it last Tuesday. Got stuck behind a school bus, then a garbage truck. 25 extra minutes. I should've just stayed on the highway. Anyone else get bad transit advice that backfired?

That 42 route in St. Paul is a beast, I've heard stories. Did you check the time of day when you tried it, like was it right after school let out?

Oh yeah totally changed my mind about that route. Absolute nightmare after 3pm.
