I used to think gatekeeping in comic shops was just something people complained about online until I saw it happen at the store on Maple Street last month.

Yeah like the obscure trivia thing. I just asked about stuff they'd actually need to know day to day.

Just started asking them to recommend something THEY liked. It completely changed the vibe because they had to talk about passion instead of testing me. Now we actually have conversations about comics.
