Hit issue #500 in my collection yesterday and it felt weirdly big

So I was just alphabetizing my longboxes and realized I passed 500 comics without even noticing. I started collecting around 8 years ago with a beat up copy of Amazing Spider-Man #300 I found at a garage sale for $5. Now I've got a whole closet shelf dedicated to random X-Men runs and a bunch of indie stuff. Has anyone else hit a milestone like that and just sat there staring at their boxes for like 20 minutes?

Stood in front of my longboxes for a solid 15 minutes when I hit 300 like a year ago. I actually got into it because my uncle gave me his old 80s X-Men run (like UXM #200-something to #280ish) and it just snowballed from there. The weird part for me was realizing how many issues I bought just because the cover looked cool (like that Jim Lee X-Men #1 variant, you know the one). It really makes you think about all the random Wednesdays you spent digging through bins at the comic shop.

Yeah I don't know, staring at a box of comic books for 15 minutes seems like a lot. They're just papers with pictures and words.

@jamie770 it's not just papers though. It's the stories and the memories attached to each one. Kind of like a photo album, right?
