The pour over girl at Sidewalk Cafe changed my mind about cold brew
I always thought cold brew was just a waste of good beans, especially since I drink my coffee hot 11 months out of the year. But last Tuesday I was stuck in downtown Portland waiting on a part delivery and she handed me a sample of their 18 hour steep with a floral note from Ethiopia. The smoothness without any sugar or milk finally clicked for me. Has anyone else had a barista completely flip your opinion on a drink you swore you hated?

That barista at Coava totally flipped me on oat milk lattes. Always thought oat milk was just trendy nonsense until she made one that tasted like a warm cookie. The texture was creamy without being heavy, and the sweetness came through naturally. Now I order oat milk almost everywhere, even if it costs extra. Those little samples can be dangerous for my wallet.

Oat milk lattes? They cost extra like half the time. What's the big deal about warm cookie taste though?
