Picked the quiet corner table over the window seat today and it paid off
I always go for the window seat at my usual spot in Portland, love watching people walk by. But today I grabbed the corner table near the back because it was open and I needed to focus on some paperwork for my shop. Ended up overhearing two guys planning a community repair event and I jumped in, now I'm helping organize it next month. Has anyone else had a random choice at a coffee shop lead to something unexpected?

Gotta push back on this one. Sitting in the back at a coffee shop usually means you're just asking for someone to dump their life story on you while you're trying to read. I've had people interrupt me mid-sentence to ask if I can watch their laptop while they use the bathroom, and suddenly I'm running their errands. Seems like you got lucky but I'd still take the window seat any day, less risk of getting roped into something you didn't sign up for.
