Barista in Oslo remembered my order for 6 straight months, then I changed it and he looked hurt

Tbh I used to just grab whatever coffee and never really talk to anyone. Then I started going to this same shop near my gym in Oslo every Tuesday for a flat white with oat milk. After about 3 weeks, the barista started writing my name on the cup without asking. Six months later, I switched to a cortado on a whim, and he went quiet for a second before saying, "Oh, okay." It felt like I broke some unspoken bond between us. Now I feel weird going back, like I owe him an explanation. Has anyone else accidentally hurt a coffee shop regular's feelings by changing your usual? Should I just switch shops or stick it out?

Laugh at myself here because I once switched from black coffee to tea at my usual spot and the guy stared at me like I'd set his cat on fire. Took me three weeks to work up the nerve to go back, and he handed me the tea with this sad little shrug. Stick it out, trust me, he'll get over it way faster than your brain is telling you.
