Rant: It took me almost a month to dial in a light roast on my new grinder, everyone said it would be easy

Light roasts are so finicky, man. The margin for error is tiny because there's less roast character to hide behind. You're basically tasting the raw bean and your grinder's flaws, which gets expensive fast. It's a brutal way to learn a new machine.

My buddy burned through a whole bag dialing in his new grinder, said it tasted like sour pennies.

Wait, you're learning a new machine with light roasts? That's like trying to learn stick shift on a race car... my first bag was just bitter grass water. Had to dial it in forever.
