Heard a homeowner say creosote buildup is a myth yesterday

Had a client in Denver tell me they read online that creosote only matters for coal burners, but I've pulled a solid half-inch of it out of their flue last Tuesday, so who's the real expert here?

Yeah, I've heard that too. @taylorellis probably knows the real deal since I heard a guy from CSIA say those "creosote is a myth" videos are just people trying to sell expensive cleaning tools.

Test your wood moisture next time, anything over 20% is basically a creosote factory waiting to happen. Guarantee they're burning wet wood if they think buildup's not real.
