Hit 500 job applications this morning and it changed how I look at the whole process
I passed 500 applications sent out since January according to my spreadsheet. That number surprised me because I thought I was around 300. It made me realize I need to stop spraying and pray and focus on quality over quantity. Has anyone else tracked their numbers and found a sweet spot where you started getting more callbacks?

Wait, 20-30 tailored apps a week? That's still like 100 a month. At that rate you'd burn through 500 in five months too, just slower. I get the quality over quantity thing but 20-30 a week still feels like a lot for "focused" applications.

500 is a lot. I tracked mine once and found the same thing - too many apps, not enough focus on each one. The sweet spot for me was around 20-30 tailored apps a week, not 100 shotgun blasts. You might be wasting time on roles you don't even want if you're not filtering better.
