Hit 200 beta testers for my budgeting app this morning, totally unexpected

I launched a simple expense tracker two months ago (just for fun, really) and woke up to 200 signups. I was honestly aiming for maybe 50 by now, so seeing that number felt weirdly real. Most are students in Toronto who found it through a Reddit post I made about tracking coffee spending. Has anyone else had a milestone sneak up on them like that?

That 200 number is just the tip of the iceberg for something bigger. You see it everywhere - one small habit or project can snowball into something way larger than you planned for. It's the same with cooking (make one good meal and suddenly friends want a dinner party) or even just reading a book that leads down a rabbit hole of new interests.

200 signups from a single Reddit post is wild, not 200 beta testers from a month of work.

Does nobody think the platform itself might be the reason? Reddit has this weird effect where certain subreddits just have a vibe that makes people want to sign up for stuff without really thinking about it. Like I've seen posts in r/startups get 50 signups from a single comment, but the product was just a random Notion template. It's not always about the work you put in, sometimes it's about hitting the right audience at the right time with the right title.
