Compared Wealthsimple Trade vs Questrade for small buys... one clearly wins
I've been putting $50 a week into stocks for about 4 months now. Started with Questrade because that's what my buddy uses. But every time I bought $50 worth of something, the commission ate like $5 of it. That's 10% right off the top. Then I tried Wealthsimple Trade with zero commissions on Canadian stocks. Same $50 buy, I keep all $50. Over 4 months that's like $80 saved in fees I would have thrown away. For small investors like me it's a no brainer. Anyone else find a better option for tiny weekly buys?

Man, right?! I had the exact same experience. Started with Questrade too and it just felt like I was throwing money away on every single buy. Switched to Wealthsimple for my weekly $50 thing and it's night and day difference. Makes you realize how much those tiny fees add up over time, it's almost depressing to think about what I was losing before. Seriously, for anyone just starting out and putting in small amounts, it's the only way to go.
