My old sleeping bag made it to 150 nights in the field

I was cleaning out my gear closet and found my first real sleeping bag, a basic synthetic one I bought for a trip to Yellowstone in 2015. I decided to tally up every trip in my old log book, and it came to a solid 150 nights of use. I'm honestly shocked it held up that long without losing much loft, considering I never babied it. It saw rain in the Olympics, cold snaps in the Adirondacks, and a lot of dusty car camping. Has anyone else had a piece of gear far outlive its expected life? I'm curious what your record is.

Honestly, I've had the opposite luck. My cheap synthetic bags always packed out and got flat way too fast. They just couldn't handle being stuffed wet a few times. That's why I finally switched.

Damn, that's awesome. My old synthetic bag was a total tank too, lasted way longer than the fancy down one I replaced it with. It's wild how the basic stuff just refuses to die. Here's to 150 more.

Yeah, but @miles_young59 has a point about them packing out.

That's so cool yours lasted that long. I always hang mine up in a big mesh laundry bag in the closet between trips, never stuff it for storage. Seems to keep the loft way better.
