Question about the old way of doing drawer boxes

I was cleaning out my dad's old shop in Toledo and found a drawer box he made in 1995, and comparing it to the ones I make now with CNC joinery, the shift from hand-cut dovetails to machine precision over 30 years is wild, so what's one old-school technique you still think is worth the extra time?

Hand-fit a lock joint by hand. The extra glue surface beats a dovetail any day.

Old wood glue is no joke, right @ellis.leo? That extra surface area really does hold up over time.

Wait, you found a drawer from 1995 and it's still solid? How is that even possible?
