Vent: Been trimming fat the wrong way for 5 years on the strip loin

Was trimming a strip loin last Tuesday and my coworker pointed out I was cutting against the grain when removing the fat cap. Now I feel like an idiot, but it really does make the steaks look cleaner. Anybody else have that moment where a simple trick got past you for way too long?

Dude that hits hard. I spent way too long doing the same thing before someone finally pointed it out to me too.

@black.jake Yeah I remember reading this thing online about how some people never develop the skill to just chill out and be present. It said most of us are always running through mental checklists or replaying conversations in our heads. Sounds like you got shaken out of that loop too.
