That partnership agreement I signed blind almost cost me $12,000
Last spring I jumped into a joint venture with a guy named Tom from Denver without getting a lawyer to look at the profit split clause. Turns out he had a hidden expense reimbursement line that let him charge tools and travel to my share. He ran up $4,000 in 3 weeks before I caught it. Has anyone else had a partner slip something shady into a standard contract?

Whoa, $4,000 in 3 weeks? That's insane.

Right? But the admin fee thing is the real scam there. That's how they get you - they bury the real costs in fees you never see coming. $4k in three weeks is wild, but it's nothing compared to the long term bleed from those hidden charges. The partner system is built to exploit people who don't read every line of the contract. Once you sign that paper, you're basically agreeing to get nickel and dimed until you can't breathe.
