Classic partner exit strategy. Nothing says "wishing you well in your future endeavors" like a full scale data heist on the way out. Fifteen grand just to get back what was already yours feels like a special kind of tax on trusting the wrong person. At least now you have a very expensive piece of paper saying he can't do it again. Hope the clients were worth all that trouble.
