PSA: Getting a verbal agreement from a client is NOT enough
Last month I did a $3,000 web design job for a local coffee shop in Austin, all agreed over the phone. Two weeks after launch they claimed I promised unlimited revisions and refused to pay the last $1,200. Took me 3 trips to small claims court and 4 months to get that money, learned the hard way. Now I make everyone sign a simple contract before I even open my laptop. Anyone else had a handshake deal blow up in their face?

Learned that one the hard way myself with a landscaping job last summer. Now I send over a quick one page agreement before I even touch the work.

A one pager is smart but you gotta run it by a lawyer first lol. Handshake deals are fine for small stuff til they aren't and then you're stuck.

Heard somewhere that handshake deals can cost you way more than a lawyer's fee.
