Had a client ask for a quote on a roof repair in Springfield last Tuesday, and it turned into a full replacement job.
They just wanted a patch, but when I got up there, I saw the decking was totally rotten in a big area. I showed them pictures and explained the safety risk. They agreed to the bigger job on the spot, which was a $12,000 deal instead of the $500 fix. It made me think about how just showing up and being honest can really grow a job. Has anyone else had a small quote blow up into a much bigger project just by pointing out what you actually see?

Forget the patch, you saved them from a future disaster.

What if the fix was actually the real problem?

That's how it goes with a lot of things, not just work. People often miss the real problem until someone points it out clearly.
