Warning: My journal's honest take on my boss put me in a tough spot.

Now I feel bad writing the truth because what if they see it, but faking it for the pages feels just as wrong.

Trust me, I've done the whole code name thing and it turns your journal into a bad spy novel. You start calling your boss "The Penguin" or something silly, and then you forget who you're even mad at. I once spent a week referring to my manager as "Bob" even though his name is Steve, and I got so confused when talking to my friends. It's like we're all out here writing secret messages to ourselves, which is pretty funny when you think about it. But hey, at least the journal gets the truth, even if it's in a weird, made-up language. Just burn it if you get too paranoid, that's my two cents.

My old journal had a code name for my last boss. Kept it at home, never at work. Still felt a little risky though.

Yeah that "felt a little risky" part is real. I started using rotating code names I'd swap out every few months just in case.
