Picked a cheap dot grid over a pricey journal, and my habit actually stuck this time
I spent $27 on a fancy dotted notebook back in January and quit using it by week two. Last month I grabbed a $6 grid pad from the drugstore in Tucson just to test something. I set it up with one page for my week and one for random notes, nothing else. No fancy layouts, no color coding, no month spreads. I've filled 34 pages so far and still open it every morning. Turns out the cheap paper is why it worked, I wasn't scared to mess up a $27 book. Anyone else find that an ugly notebook gets used way more than a nice one?
I still have candles from like three years ago that I'm "saving for a special occasion" and at this point the occasion is never coming. @claire_hart53 is right, it's the same trap where you keep waiting for some perfect moment that doesn't exist. At some point you just gotta light the dumb candle and eat the fancy chocolate on a Tuesday.
