My cousin saw my weekly log and said it looked like a to-do list for a robot
We were at a family cookout last month and I had my journal open on the patio table. She pointed at my color-coded task boxes and said, 'Why do you even need that? Just use your phone.' It stuck with me because she didn't get that the act of writing it down helps me think. How do you explain the point of a bujo to someone who just doesn't see it?

Honestly, your cousin has a point though. It does look like extra work for no real gain. My phone can remind me of stuff and syncs everywhere, so why carry a whole book? The writing part seems like a nice idea but it's just slowing things down. If the goal is to get things done, the fastest way is the best way, and that's digital. All that color coding and drawing boxes is just decorating a list.

Disagree, the writing part helps my brain actually remember things.

Wait, but what if the slowing down is the whole point? Like @joel_martinez is calling it extra work, but maybe that's what makes it stick in your head. My phone reminds me of stuff I instantly forget. The act of writing it out feels like my brain is doing the work, not just reading a screen. Isn't the goal to remember, not just to be fast?
