Appreciation post: My bullet journal's weekly spread got way too messy after I tried a new color-coding system with 8 different highlighters.

I thought more colors would make things clearer, but it just became a visual mess that stressed me out. Has anyone else tried a complex color system and had to scale way back?

Feel like you tried to organize a rainbow and it just started a fight on the page. Eight highlighters sounds like a stationery store threw up on your weekly plans. Maybe the real code was the friends we stressed out along the way?

So the color coding system completely backfired, then. Did the fight on the page at least help you figure out which tasks were actually important, or just make the whole list seem impossible?

Honestly the highlighters just made my to-do list look like a crime scene... and I'm the one who did it. At least the mess is colorful.
