That envelope system saved me $200 in one month

I used to just swipe my card for groceries without thinking, but after I took out $300 cash for food last month and actually saw it shrink... I couldn't believe how fast I used to blow through money on snacks. Did you guys find the envelope thing annoying at first too?

Nah, the real trick is hiding it from yourself so you forget it exists.

I read somewhere that people who use cash actually spend less because it physically hurts more to hand it over.

Hmm, I'm not so sure, swiping plastic feels way less painful to me than watching my cash disappear.
