Update: I stopped paying for airport snacks after a $14 pretzel in Chicago
Two years ago I would walk through O'Hare and buy whatever looked good, and one time a soft pretzel and a bottle of water came to $14, which stung for the rest of the trip. Now I pack a small bag of nuts, a couple of those oatmeal bars, and an empty water bottle I fill at the fountain past security. Last month I flew to Phoenix and spent $0 at the airport, maybe $4 on snacks at the grocery store the night before. The funny part is my husband used to make fun of my snack bag, and now he asks me to pack him one too. A layover in Denver once turned into a $22 lunch because I forgot the bag at home, so I keep a backup stash in my carry-on. Does anyone have a snack that holds up in a bag all day?
