Hit 100th spine repair this month and finally lost count
I keep a tally of every book I fix in my shop, just for my own records. This month I crossed 100 repairs, which is more than I did all of last year combined. Most of them were just old library books with broken hinges and loose signatures. Idk, it just made me stop and think about how many stories are getting saved one glue-up at a time. Has anyone else ever tracked their numbers and been surprised by the total?

Gotta say I get attached to the stupidest stuff too. There was this ratty old copy of The Hobbit I fixed where someone wrote "Bilbo is a mood" in the margins and I still think about it when I'm bored lol. It's like every book carries a little piece of whoever owned it before you get your hands on it. But man, 100 repairs in a month is wild - I barely hit 40 last month and I felt like my brain was melting. You must have glue fumes permanently in your lungs at this point.

Do you ever get weirdly attached to certain repairs and find yourself remembering specific books you fixed months later? lmao I still think about this one beat up copy of The Giver I reglued like two years ago.
