Just wasted $75 on a 'high heat' paint that bubbled off my forge in under a week.

Ugh, that's the worst. I had the same thing happen with a can of Rust-Oleum "high heat" garbage. Total waste. I switched to Stove Bright brand paint, the kind for wood stoves. Did two thin coats on my forge body, let it cure with some low burns first. That stuff has held up for over a year now, no peeling.
