Warning: a kid brought a pet ferret into my shop in Boise last Thursday

The little guy got loose during a simple buzz cut and ran behind my chair. Took me and the kid's dad about 15 minutes to corner him near the shampoo bowls. Has anyone else had a wild animal visit during a haircut?

Seriously, how much damage can one ferret really do? It's not like it was a raccoon chewing wires or a stray dog knocking over your whole product shelf. A little mess near the shampoo bowls and some spilled bottles is just a five minute cleanup. People act like a small pet on the loose is some major crisis.

Wasn't there a story a while back about a parrot that flew into a barbershop and wouldn't leave? It kept saying "lookin' good" to every customer. A ferret sounds way more chaotic though... those things are fast. At least it wasn't something like a snake, that would have cleared the shop out in two seconds flat.

Disagree completely, a snake would have been way better. Snakes are calm and move slow, you could just guide it back outside with a broom. A ferret is pure chaos, knocking over bottles and getting into everything. At least a snake would just find a dark corner to hide in while you called animal control. The parrot story proves animals in shops are funny, not scary.
