Rant: My shop lead bet me $20 I couldn't find the intermittent fault without pulling the whole rack
Spent 3 hours last Tuesday chasing a ghost on a King Air 350 with a flap indication that only popped up in cold weather, so I finally just wiggled every connector in the left wing root with the plane sitting in the hangar at 40 degrees. Turned out a single pin in the J1 connector was backing out just enough to lose contact when the metal got cold and shrank, 20 dollar bill was mine and the plane flew that afternoon. Has anyone else caught a temp related fault like that, or do you just shotgun the connector and move on?
