Paper schematics still beat a tablet on the tarmac
I used to bring a tablet loaded with PDFs out to the ramp for every job. Then last summer at KLAS, I dropped it on a wet ramp and spent 20 minutes drying it off in the truck. Now I just print out the key pages for each task and keep them in a plastic sleeve. Has anyone else found that paper holds up better than electronics in rain or direct sun?

Yeah I laminated a few key pages once and they held up better than my phone in a drizzle.

Paper's biggest advantage nobody talks about is the glare factor. Out on the ramp in Phoenix sun, my tablet becomes a mirror at certain angles. Paper with a matte finish just sits there readable no matter how the sun hits it. Also, a wet finger smears across a touchscreen but just wrinkles paper a bit if it gets damp. Had a coworker tape a cheap clipboard to his arm so his hands stayed free, you cant really do that with a tablet without looking ridiculous.
