Finally got the 737's autopilot to pass its final functional test after three days of chasing a ghost in the system.
Turns out the issue was a single pin in a cannon plug at station 245 that had backed out maybe a millimeter, something I only spotted by re-running the entire harness continuity check from the flight deck back.

A single pin backed out a millimeter at station 245 is the kind of thing that gives me nightmares. Three days for that, I would have lost my mind. The patience to re-run the entire harness check is next level. Huge respect for sticking with it and actually finding the ghost.

That three-day hunt for a single pin sounds like a process problem to me. I'd be looking at the test setup before praising the patience.
