Rant: A customer called me out for using a cheap torque wrench on his truck

He said 'you're gonna strip my lugs with that thing, I can hear it click from here.' It was a Harbor Freight model I'd had for years. Switched to a Snap-on digital torque wrench the next week, cost me $400. The difference in feel and accuracy is night and day. Anyone else get burned by a tool they thought was 'good enough'?

My "good enough" socket set left me with a bolt head shaped like a circle.

That sounds like a whole new level of bad.

That "good enough" thing hits home. My buddy used a cheap impact socket on his own axle nut, it split right down the side and rounded the nut. He spent the whole next day with a torch and a chisel trying to get it off. It was a total nightmare.
