Just realized I've been spraying clear coat wrong for years
I used to do three medium coats with a 10 minute flash time between each, but a paint rep from PPG at a trade show in Atlanta last month said two heavier coats with a 15 minute wait works better for modern clears. I switched my method on a hood repair last week and the finish looks way deeper. Has anyone else changed up their clear coat routine recently?

It's funny how many little things we do wrong until someone shows us a better way.

Honestly this whole thing reminds me of my grandma's way of making tea. She'd put the milk in first, always, and swore it was the only right way. My mom would try to correct her every time. But you know what? That tea tasted exactly the same. Maybe it's just me but sometimes the "better way" is just the way someone else decided was the rule.

Nah, sometimes the "wrong" way is just your way. Like how you load a dishwasher or fold a t-shirt. Someone coming in to "show you better" just kills your vibe and makes you feel dumb for no reason. Their better way isn't always better, it's just different.
