Went with a pole saw over a top handle for my 3 acre lot, and my shoulders thank me
Borrowed my neighbor Dale's Stihl top handle for a weekend of limb work in Bend and my forearms were toast by Sunday. Has anyone else gone back to a pole saw for everything under 20 feet or is it just me getting old?

Boy, nobody warns you that a top handle also kills your grip strength for opening jars all week.

Guessing my grandfather's old arms would've tapped out even faster, so at least we're in good company. Pole saws save the shoulders but man do they make you feel like you're doing yard work with a fishing rod.
