Spent $300 on a fancy tree injection system that's now collecting dust

I got sold on this high end injection rig at a trade show a couple years back, the kind with the digital pressure gauge and the special cartridges. The rep made it sound like it would cut my treatment time in half and save on chemical use. After using it on about a dozen jobs around Portland, I found it was slower than my old simple spike system. The setup and clean out took forever, and I had two cartridges fail on me, wasting the whole treatment. It felt like I was paying for tech I didn't need for basic emerald ash borer work. That $300 could have bought a new climbing rope or a really good saw chain. Has anyone else gone back to simpler tools after a purchase like this?

RyanTorres might be right about a bad batch, but that fancy tech probably just needs more practice to be worth it lol.

Those two cartridge failures must have been brutal. What was the actual failure mode, like did they crack or just not dispense? I'm always suspicious of proprietary cartridges because they lock you into one brand's whole expensive system.

Probably just a bad batch, not a system failure.
