Warning about using a 3/8 impact driver on those new Samsung washer pump bolts

I tried it on a job last week and snapped the head right off, which turned a 20 minute swap into a 3 hour nightmare. Anyone else run into these being way softer than they look?

Snapping the head off" sounds like a torque setting issue, not the bolt's fault.

Yeah, my buddy had the same thing happen. He was using his little 12v impact on a pump and the bolt just sheared clean. Had to drill it out and chase the threads, total pain.

That's just how things are made now... everything feels cheaper even when it looks solid. Daniel_martin is right about the torque, but you shouldn't need a feather touch on a washer bolt. It's like they want stuff to fail so you can't fix it yourself.
