Why does nobody talk about that guy at the anime convention who critiqued my cosplay
Some dude at Anime Expo 2023 told me my stitches were crooked on my sailor collar and then offered to fix it right there with a needle he pulled from his bag. He spent 15 minutes redoing the hem while explaining thread tension, has anyone else met a random helpful stranger like that?

Man that's wild, I actually heard something similar from a friend who goes to cons a lot. He told me there's this older guy who carries around a sewing kit and will just stop and fix people's cosplay on the spot if he sees something off. Sounds like you ran into the same person or at least someone with the same energy. It's kind of refreshing honestly, most folks at those events are just taking pictures or walking around. But having some random stranger offer to fix your stitches without being weird about it is pretty rare. Makes you wonder if he does that at every convention or just when he spots something really bothering him.

Wait, he carries around a sewing kit?? That's both hilarious and kinda awesome at the same time lol. I'm trying to picture some guy just whipping out thread and needle in the middle of a crowded convention hall like it's no big deal. Definitely not the kind of random encounter you'd expect but honestly way better than someone just staring at your costume from across the room.

Is it weird that a stranger touching your clothes with a needle felt okay to you?
