Spent 3 hours trying to find the name of a 90s anime I barely remembered
I could only picture a character with blue hair and a floating cat, so it took me three full nights of scrolling through MyAnimeList before I finally found it was Serial Experiments Lain. Has anyone else had a search for an old anime turn into a bigger project than you expected?

Funny you mention that, @wendy628, I used to be in the same camp. I could have sworn it was from some magical girl show or a digimon thing but the more I dug into it the more I realized the "cat" was just a weirdly shaped glitch in my memory. I had the whole vibe wrong - the blue hair was right but the cat was probably that fuzzy TV static or a random pillow in a scene. It changed my whole view on how easy it is to mix up details from childhood watching late at night. Your mileage may vary but for me it really hammered home how unreliable our memories can be when we're half asleep or barely paying attention back then.
