My wife roasting my soggy wings made me change how I preheat
I was dead set on just setting the temp and tossing stuff in, no preheat needed. Then my wife said my chicken wings came out 'soggy and sad' compared to her mom's, lol. So I tried preheating my air fryer for a full 5 minutes before adding the wings last Sunday. The difference was wild, they came out way crispier and cooked evenly. Has anyone else noticed a big difference with preheating or am I late to this?

Preheating for 5 whole minutes is a game changer? I dunno man, is it really that serious for some wings? Feels like a lot of effort for a little bit of crunch.

Preheated my air fryer for wings a few months back and never looked back. The skin actually crisps up instead of steaming in its own juice. I do 400 degrees for 5 minutes empty, then 12 minutes with the wings flip halfway. Makes a huge difference compared to just tossing them in cold.
