My air fryer chicken wings turned into hockey pucks last night

I followed a recipe from that blog 'Crispy Kitchen' exactly, 400 degrees for 20 minutes like it said. They came out so dry and tough, I swear my dog wouldn't even eat one. What temp and time do you guys actually use for wings that aren't ruined?

Honestly that Crispy Kitchen recipe is my go-to and my wings are perfect every time. I wonder if your air fryer runs cooler than most or maybe the wings were just too small. I always get the big party wings from Costco and 400 for 20 minutes gives me that crispy skin without being dry. You might need to check your model's manual because the timing can really vary between brands.

Totally get what you mean, @craig.john. Found a chicken recipe that said bake for 45 minutes, and it was bone dry. Started checking everything 10-15 minutes before the blog's timer says. For veggies, especially broccoli, I just cut the oven time in half. Those recipe times seem to be for someone with a completely different oven.
