Hot take: I actually prefer frozen veggies in the air fryer over fresh ones

I know everyone says fresh is always better, but hear me out. Last month I threw a bag of frozen broccoli florets from Costco in my air fryer at 400 for about 12 minutes and they came out perfectly crispy on the edges. Fresh ones I bought that same week always seem to get either soggy or burnt spots. Has anyone else had better luck with frozen stuff for certain things?

Tbh it's kinda wild how we get told fresh is always better but frozen stuff is literally flash frozen at peak ripeness. I've noticed this with a lot of stuff, like frozen green beans or even frozen corn, they just hold up better in the air fryer than fresh ever does.

My brother works at a produce distribution center and he told me that most "fresh" fruits and vegetables in the grocery store are actually stored for weeks in controlled atmosphere rooms before they ever hit the shelf. So that fresh broccoli you buy might be a month old by the time you cook it. Meanwhile that bag of frozen corn was likely processed and sealed within hours of being picked.

Frozen green beans in the air fryer are the only way I do them now, they come out way crispier than fresh ever did.
