Spent $800 on a fancy foam gun for stucco repair and it was a complete waste
I bought one of those expensive pump foam guns from a big box store last spring thinking it would save me hours on patching cracks around my ABQ house. First off, the foam came out way too runny for vertical surfaces (you know, like walls). It just dripped everywhere and made a huge mess on my driveway. After about three uses the nozzle clogged up and no amount of cleaning would fix it. I ended up going back to the $4 cans of spray foam from the hardware store and a putty knife. Those little cans give me way more control and actually stick where I put them. Anyone else get burned by those pricey foam guns or am I the only sucker around here?

Did you try cleaning it with the special nozzle brush too? Same thing happened to me with one of those pump guns I picked up at the home center. Worked okay the first time but after that it was nothing but trouble. Clogged up on the second job and I spent more time screwing with it than actually patching. I switched right back to the little red cans and a tube of exterior caulk for big stuff. There's a reason the pros stick to the basics, they don't have time to mess with gear that needs a whole maintenance schedule.

Man that sucks but honestly its kind of a pattern I notice with a lot of fancy tools these days. The manufacturers make them look all professional and promise they'll save you time but half the time theyre just overengineered for normal people like us who just wanna patch a crack and move on with their day. Its like they forget that most of us arent contractors running jobsites we're just guys trying to not have dirt blow into our garage. The simple cheap stuff almost always works better in my experience because its been tested by regular people for decades not by engineers in a lab. Those $4 cans are honestly perfect for the job and they dont need a whole cleaning routine or special storage. Youre not a sucker you just learned the same lesson a lot of us do when we fall for the shiny box at the store.
