Appreciation post: A five-minute leg routine that helps with standing all shift

My feet and legs were killing me after hours by the machine. Now, I do calf raises and ankle circles during coolant refills, about ten reps each. It keeps the blood flowing and reduces that heavy feeling. Makes the long days way more manageable.

Unpopular opinion: The shift to digital logs is making us miss physical paperwork.

I was doing an annual on a Piper last month. Everything in the digital system looked perfect. Then I spotted a worn bushing that wasn't flagged anywhere. With the old paper logs, you could see smudges or notes in the margins that told a story. Now it's just clean screens hiding problems. How do you guys catch these hidden issues now?

Why does nobody talk about the move from shop apprentices to solo learners in glassblowing?

I learned by shadowing a veteran who would correct my stance at the bench for hours. These days, most starters pick up skills from internet clips in their own spaces. That constant, on-the-spot guidance seems rare now, and I think it shapes how techniques are passed down. Do you find your learning path has shifted too?

Nikon FM2 advance lever was totally frozen. Got it moving.

Lever was stuck solid. Took off the bottom plate and found a tiny spring had snapped. Swapped in one from a donor body. Works perfect now.
