inColor mix turned muddy on my recent piece
Disagree completely with the idea that cobalt and amber always go brown. I've mixed them myself and gotten a RICH, deep purple with the right ratios. Try using more cobalt and just a hint of amber, it changes EVERYTHING. Equal parts make mud, but controlled mixes can be vibrant. I saw a friend create this beautiful twilight sky, not brown at all. It's about technique, not blaming the colors.

inHot take: Surface team gets jumpy when the viz turns to soup
That "zero viz" and "working by touch" line really hits. I used to give super detailed, almost play-by-play updates in soup conditions (thinking it would help). All it did was make topside ask more questions, which just breaks your focus. Now I keep it to three words: "Continuing safe progress." If they push, I add "rate is touch-dependent." It frames the slowdown as the method, not a problem. It changed how they hear it.

inWarning: I thought thinning shears were a cheat until a mentor showed me their art
Wow, I totally underestimated texturizing shears too!

inAfter a dispute with a client, I'm rethinking our gem certification process.
Your post hits close to home. We had a client question our in-house grading last month, it turned into a big argument. Now we're stuck between faster checks and trusted third-party reports. It's a tough spot, balancing quick work with customer trust. External certs add cost, but they stop those nasty arguments.
