Serious question, has chatting with store workers ever led you to a hidden section?
I used to just browse the usual spots until I started saying hello to the staff (sounds simple, right?). One cashier mentioned they stash new donations in a back corner before pricing them, which changed my whole approach. Last month, I asked about kitchenware and got tipped off to a box of vintage mugs just brought in. Now, I make a point to smile and ask how their day is going, and it often pays off with little hints. It's not about being pushy, just friendly, and it makes the trip more fun too. Try it next time you're in, you might find the good stuff before it even hits the shelves.

Ugh, I'm probably too awkward to pull that off. My small talk is so bad they'd probably hide the good stuff from me.

Man, @sandra_flores85, I feel you on that. Small talk is the worst sometimes, like why do we even do it? I always end up saying something dumb and then overthinking it for days. But here's the thing, most folks are just as nervous as we are. They're probably not even judging you that hard. Just lean into the awkward, it makes you more real anyway.
