My landlord's pop-in habit is throwing off my entire work rhythm
I work fully remote and my landlord has started dropping by unannounced to check on things. It COMPLETELY disrupts my flow, especially when I'm in meetings. I've tried politely asking him to schedule visits, but he says it's his right as the owner. Has anyone else dealt with this, and what strategies worked for you? I'm considering setting clearer boundaries but don't want to create TENSION.

Last month, my landlord tried that and I told him about the local tenant law. Most places require 24-hour notice. Have you checked your state's rules?

Used to let landlords slide until I saw @brookelewis point that out. Now I always check the rules first.

Honestly, who else just assumed landlords were always right before learning this stuff?

Look at it from his side though, he owns the place and wants to make sure his property is okay. Stuff can go wrong fast and a quick check can save a huge repair bill later. Maybe he's had bad tenants before who caused damage. Being super strict about 24 hour notice for every little thing can seem hostile when he might just be trying to be a responsible owner. There's probably a middle ground that doesn't involve quoting the law right away.
