Vent: I used to think my coworker was too slow, but he taught me something big

I mean, I always rushed through fitting parts to get jobs done fast. Then I saw him take his time on a tricky scope mount. His work never came back for fixes, but mine did sometimes. Now I see that being careful saves more time in the long run. Idk, maybe it's just me but that changed how I work.

You ever rush through something only to have it bite you later? I used to be the king of quick fixes that fell apart (surprise, surprise). Learning to slow down was a game-changer for me too.

Quick fixes that fell apart... isn't it weird how we know they'll fail but do them anyway? I used to rush because I thought speed meant competence, but that just hid the real problems. Now I see that slowing down lets you fix things for good, not just for now.

Rushing always felt like moving forward, but it's really just kicking the can down the road... you end up walking the same stretch over and over. The real skill is spotting the shaky foundation before you even start building on top of it.
