The switch to oversized shower doors is getting out of hand

Last week I had to install a frameless unit that was 42 by 84 inches for a remodel in Scottsdale. A month ago, the biggest I saw was maybe 36 by 78. Three years back, a standard 60-inch door was the big ask. Now every high-end bathroom wants a single glass wall you could park a car behind. The weight and handling for these panels is a whole different ballgame. What's the biggest single piece you've had to move without a crane?

My buddy had to move a 96-inch glass panel for a hotel lobby, and it took six guys just to get it off the truck.

Yeah, that 42 by 84 is no joke. Reminds me of when a client wanted a single curved glass piece for a shower, nearly dropped it with just two of us. Sounds like @bell.felix's buddy had the right idea getting a whole crew.

Man, we used suction cups and a whole lot of prayers.
